Muscat – Within the framework of the One Team Initiative for Government, the Royal Academy of Management (RAM) launched the implementation of the initiative’s interactive workshops in Al Batinah North Governorate to extend its impact across functional levels and governorates of the Sultanate of Oman. This forms part of a five-year national programme aimed at embedding a methodology of joint government action, fostering a unified, impact-driven vision, and integrating roles across government departments. This, in turn, contributes to enhancing government performance efficiency and achieving sustainable institutional impact.

Welcoming the launch of the workshops in his governorate, HE Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of Al Batinah North, underlined that the One Team Initiative reflects the Royal support of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, may God protect him. He said it supports activating the role of governorates, advancing their sustainable development priorities, and strengthening and support for administrative decentralisation. He noted that the initiative reinforces the collective mindset of working as one team in the public sector with unified vision among national competencies in the governorate, and contributes to a more cohesive institutional environment and enhanced coordination among entities. He added that applying the one government team concept in a governorate such as Al Batinah North, which is characterised by institutional diversity and operational density, supports translating unity of vision into daily practice, positively impacting the quality of public services, efficiency, and overall government performance.
HE Dr Ali Qassim Al Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management, stated that the rollout the One Team Initiative for Government across the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman over a five-year period reflects RAM’s commitment to contributing to the implementation of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s strategic vision for decentralised administration and the empowerment of local governance and communities. He emphasised that engaging directly with the government employees, regardless of their position or job title, constitutes one of the core pillars of the initiative as a strategic direction supporting the targets of Oman Vision 2040.
He explained that the initiative is designed to integrate with national efforts to build a cohesive, flexible and innovative public sector that keeps pace with rapid transformations, responds to national priorities and supports effective local administration. It is intended to foster a collective mindset based on a shared language, common objectives, and integrated action among all members of the one government team.
His Excellency Dr Ali explained that the initiative facilitates a shift from parallel and duplicated efforts to unity of direction, enabling all stakeholders to work towards a shared higher purpose measured by meaningful impact. It is grounded in clarity of vision and integration of roles, ensuring harmony in government performance and the sustainability of outcomes at both governorate and national levels.
Hilal Al Riyami, Head of the One Team Initiative team, explained that the participant’s journey extends beyond the interactive workshops as it offers opportunities to explore innovative approaches to work that transcend traditional functional roles and deepens civil servants’ awareness of how their daily tasks have a tangible impact on society at large. Hilal added that the initiative’s adaptive approach has enabled the team to leverage outcomes from previous workshops in Muscat and Dhofar, allowed the content to be adjusted to the specific requirements and context of each governorate while maintaining the approved scientific methodology.
