What if a qualified participant is not accepted onto the NCP Programme?
Selection for the NCP is highly competitive as places are limited. The RAM Programmes Team encourages applicants who have not been successful to learn from the experience and to use this to develop their capabilities and so apply for future cohorts. The NCP selection process identifies applicants who meet the selection criteria and, for this reason, does not screen out qualifying applicants who may have made an unsuccessful application previously.
Can the NCP be completed effectively while in a full-time job?
The NCP learning journey is module-based and can be completed while participants continue to work in their current role. However, participants are required to allocate time away from the office throughout the eight months of the Programme. This includes a total of 29 module days (in Muscat and overseas) with extra days allocated for travel on either side of modules, Participants will be expected to dedicate approximately 20 additional days away from the office for group work.
How much preparation time is required for the modules or for Programme work between the modules?
Approximately four weeks before each module, you will receive preparation reading. This must be completed ahead of the module. Additionally, during the three inter-modular phases, you will be required to work in groups to progress the application of the learning to experimentation. It should be noted that this will require approximately 20 days away from the office.
How is the NCP Group work scheduled?
The project groups are responsible for coordinating with the business coaches and scheduling these 20 days themselves.
Do I have to attend all modules and inter-modular activities?
Participation in the NCP represents a significant investment of time from individuals and their organizations. Once accepted onto the NCP, participants will need to sign a Commitment Letter indicating their understanding and acceptance of the Programme schedule and the required course work. Participants unable to dedicate themselves to the entire Programme* for any reason should not apply to the Programme.
*Please refer to the Programme Calendar for the complete schedule of Programme modules and timeline.
Where will the Oman based modules take place?
Oman based modules will normally take place in the Royal Academy of Management in Muscat.
Can family members travel with me to the out-of-Muscat sessions?
We do not allow family members of participants to accompany them during the overseas modules (Modules 2 & 4).
What preparation is expected for the overseas modules?
Two modules (Leadership Module 2 & the Discovery Module 4) will take place overseas. Participants must arrive at the module’s location the evening prior to the commencement of the module.
Will participants be required to apply for overseas visas for the NCP Programme?
Participants will be responsible for obtaining their own visas for their international modules. This should be done well ahead of their travel schedule. The RAM will support the visa application by providing letter of support that will show the visa applicant is a participant on the NCP (e.g. proof of acceptance).
Can family members travel with me to the overseas modules of the NCP Programme?
The Leadership & Application Module (Modules 2 & 4), both of which take place overseas require participants to be completely committed to the learning and not subject to any distractions. As a result, we do not allow accompanying family members.
What comes after the NCP?

Does graduation from the NCP Programme guarantee a promotion within the participant’s organisation?
