Royal Academy of Management Launches Fourth Cohort of Etimad to Strengthen Leadership Impact in Oman’s Private Sector

In line with Oman Vision 2040 priorities to enhance
private sector competitiveness and strengthen leadership capabilities, the Royal Academy of Management (RAM) has launched the fourth cohort of the National Leadership Programme for Omani Middle Management in the Private Sector (Etimad). The bespoke initiative contributes to building a strong pipeline of high-potential,
high-performing Omani leaders in the private sector and enhancing their organisational and socio-economic impact.

The programme forms part of broader national efforts to invest in human capital development and equip emerging Omani leaders with the capabilities needed to navigate an increasingly dynamic global landscape. It further reinforces the role of the private sector as a strategic partner in driving sustainable economic development and supporting the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

Bringing together 100 participants from across the private sector, the programme is designed for Middle and Senior Management in the Private Sector , including department heads, managers, and professionals in equivalent positions. Delivered over six months, Etimad offers a comprehensive and experiential journey that focuses on strengthening the leadership mindset and capability of participants, combining academic rigour with practical application to real-world organisational challenges.

The programme is structured around specialised learning modules, complemented by a leadership camp, blended in-person and virtual learning experiences, executive coaching and mentoring sessions, and applied projects.  These are designed to support participants in translating learning into meaningful organisational impact, contributing to national socio-economic growth and development.

Etimad focuses on developing capabilities across key leadership domains, including leading self and others, strategic foresight, financial and entrepreneurial mindset, and the future of business, from innovation to value creation. Through contemporary learning methodologies, participants engage in simulations, experiential learning activities, and RAM’s “Meet the Leader” sessions, which provide opportunities for participants to learn from experienced senior leaders and gain practical insights into their leadership practice.

Dr Fathiya Abdullah Al Rashdi, RAM’s Vice President for Programme Affairs, said, “Etimad reflects our commitment to contribute to the development of a strong pipeline of Omani leaders capable of driving organisational transformation and enhancing private sector competitiveness. As organisations navigate increasingly complex and dynamic operating environments, the ability of mid-level leaders to lead meaningful change, unlock opportunities, and deliver a transformational, lasting impact has become more important than ever.”

She added, “Through Etimad, we aim to equip participants with the leadership, strategic, and future-focused capabilities to create value within their organisations and support national priorities. Investing in leadership talent is ultimately an investment in the long-term resilience and sustainability of our nation’s institutions and the wider economy.”

Dr Yasmin Shanan Al Balushi, Programme Director, said, “A key feature of Etimad is its focus on translating leadership concepts into practice. Through simulations, applied learning projects, and executive coaching and mentoring, participants work on real organisational challenges and develop solutions that drive tangible impact within their workplaces.”

She noted that the programme is designed to strengthen participants’ ability to think strategically, lead high-performing teams, make informed decisions, and navigate organisational transformation with confidence and agility.

The launch of the fourth cohort of Etimad underlines RAM’s commitment to unlocking Oman’s human capital potential and strengthening partnerships with the private sector to enhance the capabilities and mindset of a future-ready talent base. By empowering leaders across the nation with the capabilities, mindset, and vision required to thrive in a rapidly evolving environment, RAM continues to support the development of a competitive, diversified economy aligned with Oman Vision 2040.
