The future direction of a government is linked to an ability to anticipate the future and the speed at which it adapts to global changes. To help achieve this objective, the academy seeks to reinforce the capabilities of national cadres in middle management, in public and private sectors, through the National Programme for Developing Leaders and Future Foresight- LPP. This aims to develop and enrich the skills of participants from various governmental institutions, and to build a community of qualified leaders that is aware of the importance of institutional thinking and systems, and of driving change and innovation.
The programme has been designed in cooperation with the University of Arizona. As an academic partner, it is responsible for preparing content for training programmes and their implementation, as well as preparing Omani trainers to sustain the programme in future years under the strategic supervision of the Ministry of Finance (The Economic Offset Programme).
The duration of the programme is six months. It targets deputy general managers, departmental managers, and managers at similar levels in government institutions and agencies, subject to the law of the Ministry of Labour.
