As part of its commitment to supporting and developing national talents, the Royal Academy of Management (RAM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, has launched the “Minbar for an Impactful Speech” programme. This initiative brings together 50 preachers from various governorates across the Sultanate of Oman. It represents a significant step in enhancing the role of mosque preachers in promoting national, social, and humanitarian values, while meeting the growing demand for impactful public speaking and preaching skills. The programme aims to create a lasting impact by equipping preachers with strategic vision and innovative tools, empowering them to strengthen their societal roles. It also supports Oman’s wider efforts to cultivate a cohesive society capable of addressing current and future challenges. Moreover, the programme seeks to develop skilled individuals who can guide their communities convincingly and effectively, with a focus on utilizing modern technologies to disseminate knowledge while preserving Omani identity and culture. His Excellency Dr Ali bin Qassim Al-Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management, remarked: “The ‘Minbar for an Impactful Speech’ programme is a cornerstone initiative for supporting mosque preachers. It exemplifies the strong collaboration between the Royal Academy of Management and the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. The programme is designed to foster values of tolerance, openness, and constructive dialogue, while underscoring the vital role of preachers in raising societal awareness and contributing to Oman’s development journey. Enhancing skills in public speaking and influence represents a long-term investment in building community leaders who can support sustainable development. Through this programme, we aim to empower participants to communicate their messages with greater impact, while reinforcing national values and the Omani identity.”
The ten-day programme includes comprehensive modules and practical sessions delivered by experts and specialists in public speaking and influence. It adopts an approach that integrates theoretical learning with hands-on practice, with a particular emphasis on harnessing modern technologies to enhance public speaking skills. This includes the use of artificial intelligence to analyze vocal performance and develop educational content. Additionally, the programme features interactive dialogue sessions addressing key national topics such as intellectual security, the knowledge-based economy, Omani identity, tolerance, and openness. These sessions are designed to enable participants to understand and engage with contemporary issues effectively, while promoting national and societal values.
