The Royal Academy of Management Launches “Tasmu ” Initiative to Foster Women’s Leadership Skills

Muscat, Oman – March 10, 2024 – In alignment with the global observance of International Women’s Day, the Royal Academy of Management, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development, launched the “Tasmu ” initiative. This groundbreaking programme is dedicated to enhancing the leadership capabilities of Omani women across the public and private sectors and civil society. The initiative was launched under the esteemed sponsorship of Her Excellency Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al-Najjar, Minister of Social Development, marking a significant stride towards empowering female leadership in the Sultanate.

Her Excellency Dr. Laila Al-Najjar emphasized that “Tasmu ” aims to develop the leadership skills of Omani women within various sectors. The initiative reflects the profound attention and support that Omani women have received under the reign of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, affirming their critical role in driving national development and contributing to the economy.

Dr. Ali bin Qassim Al Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management, highlighted the significance of dedicating a day to celebrate Omani women’s achievements and their vital contribution to the nation’s developmental journey. “Omani women have proven their leadership prowess and have been instrumental in various sectors, demonstrating ambition and excellence,” he stated.

The “Tasmu ” initiative is designed to elevate and harness the potential of Omani women, promoting their active participation in decision-making roles and leadership positions. By focusing on skill development, knowledge transfer, and showcasing successful models of Omani women leaders, “Tasmu ” aspires to inspire and enable a new generation of female leaders poised to contribute significantly to Oman’s progress and prosperity.

This initiative includes a series of programmes, workshops, and field visits aimed at reinforcing the leadership qualities of Omani women, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the future and seize opportunities for growth and innovation.
